HEALTH CARE

Our association with Health Care Projects goes back nearly forty years. In that time the Practice has been involved with well over sixty doctors surgery projects and some dozen Nursing/Residential Care Premises, as well as involvement with alterations, refurbishment or extensions to Hospitals in Middlesbrough and Darlington.

Purpose-built Doctors Surgery, Upper Poppleton, York.

In 1965 the Practice designed one of the first Group Practice Medical Centers in the Teesside area, Queens Park Medical Center, Stockton. From that time, hardly a year has gone past without there being some involvement in the building or planning of a new surgery or alterations and extensions to existing surgeries, many commissions being by way of recommendations from past Clients or additional commissions from existing Clients.

Small Rural Doctors Surgery, High Etherley, County Durham

We have recently completed a substantial extension to Adelaide Row Medical Center, Seaham for Seaham Medical Group (the third major project for this Client) and substantial alterations, an extension and general improvements to Loftus Surgery, Loftus. Also recently completed are doctors surgery improvement projects in Barnard Castle in      Co Durham and Staithes on the Yorkshire coast.  We are currently involved with projects for Whitby Group Practice at Spring Vale Medical Centre, Whitby and are undertaking feasibility studies for a new Surgery at Sandsend near Whitby for Dr Suckling.

50-bed private Nursing Home, Stockton-on-Tees

In recent years the Practice has been associated with the provision of private nursing and residential care and has developed a close working relationship with local nursing home operators. We have been involved in designing no less than nine individual nursing homes for elderly persons for one Client alone!

We have recently completed work on a substantial extension to Howlish Hall Nursing and Care Home at Coundon near Bishop Auckland, to provide 17 additional single bedrooms with en-suite facilities, all to the latest Regulations and Care Standards.

We have also been closely involved with the provision of residential care for the elderly in the local area and continue to be involved in this sector. The majority of our work has involved the upgrading and refurbishment of existing premises to meet the need for improvements and ever-changing regulations.
